My Story.
As a child, I lived around the world - my dad was Civil Engineer and we lived in Africa, the Philippines, and the Falkland Islands. I experienced diverse cultures, saw people of all races, and encountered animals of all species in different climates. These experiences broadened my perspective and enhanced my perceptions and curiosity. I feel deeply connected to people and nature, inquisitive about cultures across the world. I find it interesting that different styles of massage have been used across the globe for thousands of years.

I first trained in Aromatherapy and Therapeutic Massage 2005. My intention as a therapist is to inspire people to realise that their bodies have an innate intelligence to overcome health challenges, and to empower people with the knowledge and tools to support this natural process.

From the moment a baby is born, touch is essential for their nurturance and survival. It’s how they bond, feel comforted, and thrive. Without it, babies can face serious physical and emotional challenges. In the 1950s, psychologist Harry Harlow conducted an experiment with baby monkeys to understand the importance of touch and comfort. He provided them with two types of "mothers": one made of wire that provided milk, and one made of soft cloth that didn’t provide milk. The baby monkeys overwhelmingly preferred the cloth mother, clinging to it for comfort and only going to the wire mother for food. In the mid-20th century, many orphanages, particularly in Eastern Europe, provided minimal physical contact for infants. Studies found that these children often faced severe developmental issues. They experienced delays in physical growth, cognitive development, and emotional health. Many of these children had higher rates of anxiety, depression, and difficulty forming relationships later in life.
Throughout our lives, touch continues to play a crucial role. When we fall and hurt ourselves, our first instinct is to use touch to ease the pain. We greet each other with hugs or handshakes, and we often use our hands to express ourselves when we talk. Touch is our natural bridge between our inner selves and the outside world.

Research shows that physical touch releases oxytocin, often called the "love hormone." This hormone helps reduce stress, lower blood pressure, and promote a sense of well-being and connection. Touch also reduces the levels of cortisol, the stress hormone, helping to calm the mind and body.

As we grow into adulthood, our sense of connection and touch often diminishes amidst the busyness and responsibilities of life. However, at a fundamental level of our nervous system, our bodies still crave this primal need for touch. When this need isn't met, we may unconsciously seek alternative coping mechanisms like overeating, binge-watching Netflix, or other distractions to relax and reset. Yet, without grounding and nurturing through touch, these methods may only provide temporary relief.

This stigma not only deprives us of a fundamental human need for comfort and healing but also perpetuates feelings of isolation and disconnect. Recognising the importance of reclaiming touch in its purest form—grounded in respect, empathy, and healing—is crucial for fostering a healthier, more compassionate society where everyone can feel safe enough to be comfortable with how our bodies are designed to reset and stay healthy.

Spinal Flow Technique is designed to enhance the movement of cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) through 33 access points along the spine. These techniques aim to optimize the flow of CSF, which bathes and supports the brain and spinal cord, delivering nutrients and removing waste. By focusing on these access points, practitioners promote the natural rhythm and balance of CSF, supporting neurological health and overall well-being. This gentle approach helps align the spine, release tension, and harness the body's innate healing abilities for improved physical and cognitive function.

Before starting my business in 2021, I was a full-time mum to my two little people, W & I. As any parent knows. this introduces a love into your life like no other. But challenges arose during the time my son's autism emerged. Support was scarce, and as other autism families know, you need grit and determination to get the support your child needs. Getting my son into a specialised Autism unit with the help of the National Autistic Society was the best thing for our family. But I developed Chronic Fatigue during this time too, which I believe I was prone to for various reasons I am now understanding. These were all hard lessons and I use this acquired knowledge to help others in a similar position.

Then in 2020, the pandemic hit the UK. I got very unwell with the Covid-19. My family didn't leave my side for 6 weeks. There were no medicines early on in the pandemic, and we were told I simply needed to be strong enough to overcome the virus. With my family's support, I found my way back, but life was never the same again.

My recovery taught me about energy pacing, building strength while staying within my limits. The 12-week Rehabilitation Program with Nuffield Health taught me so much about covid, fatigue and how to recover, and I will be eternally grateful to Michael our Rehabilitation Specialist! This was the first time I received the proper help I needed. Now I incorporate what I know into my services to help others.

Once you've experienced severe illness, it changes your whole perspective on life. During this time, I also lost my father and my best friend's sister to cancer. I began volunteering at Charlie's Cancer Therapy Centre as a Therapist, helping those affected by cancer. Although my dad became too unwell to come along to the centre, I decided to train in Oncology Massage this year to help others and understand more. While I can't change your situation, I can stand with you on your journey.

The challenges chronic fatigue, long covid and neurodivergence often cluster together and these are in many ways the disadvantaged groups I want to help. I use my business to share valuable insights and hard-earned knowledge with the hope that you won't have to endure what we did. Keep an eye on my blog (coming soon) for topics and recommendations that you may find useful.

Life can be beautiful. Lets do everything we can to keep it that way.
