WHY MASSAGE?
Massage has been used in many cultures all over the world for thousands of years. Known to be a form of preventative healthcare, massage alleviates chronic pain, muscle tension, and soreness by targeting fascia and deep tissues and relieving knots.

A therapist uses special techniques used to warm up the soft tissues and enhance blood flow, working with your body's innate intelligence to promote quicker healing and reduce inflammation. Stimulating the lymphatic system, massage also aids in the removal of toxins from the body. This is why you sometimes feel more thirsty after a massage and why your therapist always advises you to drink plenty of water!
Regular massage increases flexibility by loosening stiff muscles and improves your range of motion where muscles have become tight. Posture can be corrected by relaxing and realigning muscles, reducing strain on the spine.
Massage is most notably recognised for stress reduction as it promotes a sense of calm and relaxation by activating the parasympathetic nervous system. It reduces stress hormones like cortisol and adrenaline in the body and increases feel-good hormones like oxytocin and serotonin. This relieves mental fatigue and improves concentration and mental clarity. It encourages deeper and more restful sleep by calming the nervous system.

You're body is left in a peaceful state, and in it's best place for healing.
